Although the Epica is not to be defined metal in the true sense of the word their is one particular style, combining guitars with a lyrical voice (Simone Simons, not one of the finest mezzo-sopranos in the world but better than others, but lately is getting better ..) and choirs.
So try to imagine the interpretation which would give a band of its kind in the Verdi Requiem and the Four Seasons by Vivaldi. Sure, these songs lose a lot and are no longer the same whether played in this way, but I still think it is interesting to hear at least once, a different version, especially if done by quality artists like Epica.
I also appreciate the fact that they kept playing, but have also tried to give them personal interpretation.
